I’ve often wondered what I would do with my first novel as my catalog grew. In recent weeks, I’ve reread it in preparation for continuing D’Mique’s adventures and while I couldn’t help but tinker around the edges, I didn’t change much. See, the thing is, it needs to stand on its own for what it is. As I’ve written, I do believe (and I’ve been told by editors) that my writing has improved. Well, do something daily and you do improve. So, even though my more recent books are better written, I can’t really change much with the first book. It is what it is, warts and all.
